Tie One On Tuesday

Holy cow! It's been a long time since mama has had a cocktail! Maybe that's why I've been so cranky lately.

It's a new year and a new you. Skip those "cleansing detox" drinks. They are disgusting.

You want something green to drink-here ya go. Skip the crazy wheat grass green mold ick and try these instead.

The easiest and most girly drink ever is an apple martini. It taste like a jolly ranger! Drink too many of these and you will be detoxing your way to the bathroom and you might find religion by praying to the porcelain gods.

Apple Martini
2 ounces vodka
1 1/2 ounces of sour apple liqueur
1/2 to 1 teaspoon of fresh lemon juice
Fill shaker with ice, add ingredients and shake. Serve up in a chilled martini glass and let the fun begin!

I LOVE mimosas! They are heaven to me but sticking with my green theme I decided to mix it up a bit with a Melon Mimosa. Adding the sweet and sour mix takes away a lot of the sweetness brought on by the melon. Again, don't even think about drinking too many of these-your face, carpet, walls will match this green cocktail.

Melon Mimosa
1 ounce Melon liqueur (Midori has a wonderful green shade)
1/3 ounce of sweet/sour mix
4 ounces (or more) champagne
Into a champagne flute, layer your champagne, midori and melon liqueur. Mix lightly and serve.

Okay...so I think this shot will release the demons that you have trapped in you, actually, I think it will release anything you have in you. I'm pretty sure that this "green" cocktail was actually a dare. Thank you Liquor.com for this truly odd drink.

1 shot of Irish whiskey followed by 1 shot of pickle brine

Oh goodness...that just made me shudder!

There ya go! No need for a silly detox, just over indulge in a few cocktails and your body will force you into losing those unwanted pounds. Just kidding! Always drink responsibly! Now go out there and get your green drink on and trust me, these are much better than any wheat grass green mold you could ever try to get down your gullet!
